Palak Paneer Recipe – Creamy & Healthy Spinach Paneer Curry

Palak Paneer is one of the most popular North Indian vegetarian dishes made with fresh spinach (palak) and soft paneer cubes cooked in a flavorful gravy. This healthy curry is rich in iron, protein, and taste. It is commonly served with roti, naan, or jeera rice and is loved in many Indian households.

The best part about this recipe is that it is simple, quick, and can be made with basic ingredients available in every kitchen. Follow this easy recipe to prepare restaurant-style Palak Paneer at home.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Palak (Spinach)

  • 200 g Paneer

  • 1 Onion (finely chopped)

  • 2 Tomatoes

  • 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste

  • ½ tsp Garam masala

  • 2 tbsp Cream (optional)

  • 2 tbsp Oil or Butter

  • Salt as required

Step-by-Step Method

1. Blanch the Spinach

Wash the palak leaves thoroughly. Boil them in hot water for 2–3 minutes and immediately transfer them to cold water. Grind the blanched spinach into a smooth paste.

2. Prepare the Masala

Heat oil or butter in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until they become golden brown.

3. Add Ginger Garlic & Tomato

Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute. Then add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.

4. Add Spinach Paste

Now add the prepared palak paste to the pan. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.

5. Add Spices

Add garam masala and salt according to taste. Stir well so the flavors combine.

6. Add Paneer

Cut paneer into cubes and add them to the spinach gravy. Cook for about 5 minutes so the paneer absorbs the flavors.

7. Finish with Cream

Add cream for extra richness and mix gently. This step is optional but gives the curry a restaurant-style taste.
